An organization is your team. Everything — orders, parts, tags, receipts — belongs to one, and is visible only to its members.
There is no open signup and no self-serve organization creation. An admin or owner invites an email address, and that invitation is the only way an account can be created.
That is a deliberate trade: your team's purchasing, prices and receipts are not something a stranger who finds the URL should be able to browse.
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including managing members and roles |
| Admin | Everything a member can, plus manage tags, invite people and set roles |
| Member | Add, edit, move and delete parts, orders and receipts |
The practical differences are narrow. Members do everything to do with buying things; admins additionally manage tags, members and the Organization page, which members cannot open at all.
They get an email with a link. They can use it — or simply sign in with Google using that same address, which works just as well.
There is nothing to accept. Sign in — however you like — and the invitation is applied, along with whatever role it carried. The first thing you see is your team's orders.
This also repairs itself: if someone somehow ends up with an account but no organization, signing in again picks up the pending invitation.
From the Organization page, owners and admins can:
If you belong to more than one, use the organization selector in the header. Orders, tags and receipts all follow the switch.
With a single organization there is nothing to choose — you are put into it automatically when you sign in.
